Web-Service Modernization: Migrating 100 Legacy Map-Service Layers to ArcGIS Online

Vermont Center for Geographic Information faces a daunting task as part of a web-service modernization project; the task is to, 1) determine which ArcGIS Server map-service layers pass a cost-benefit test for migration to ArcGIS Online hosted feature layers, and 2) migrate layers that pass the test to ArcGIS Online hosted feature layers.

This presentation walks through the task; it shares how 100 layers are identified for migration, the steps taken to migrate, and lessons learned.

Or maybe how to convert GeoJSON to a geodatabase? This talk will discuss how to get data from OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps Foundation, and Socrata into the Esri Ecosystem. And how contributions to Community Basemaps are shared with the OpenStreetMap community.
